Miss Meg Parkinson

My Website

My name is Ms. Meg Parkinson and this will be my second year at Mammoth Heights!! I am so eager and thrilled to return to first grade this year. I truly believe I have the best job in the world. Children are the most incredible human beings and I feel the luckiest to be able to spend every day with them. A little bit about me... I grew up in Parker, Colorado and attended Prairie Crossing Elementary, Sierra Middle School, and Legend High School! I graduated from Colorado State University (Go RAMS!) in 2016 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in both human development and early childhood education. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to work in different diverse educational environments. I have worked as a teacher in a Reggio Emilia lab school for infants through preschoolers for three years and I have also had the chance to travel to Belize and work with primary school aged children in urban schools over the past several years. These differences in experiences have shaped my view of the child as being holistic, valuable, and capable. In my spare time I love to spend time with my partner, Sean, bake goodies, go on hikes, participate in musical theatre, read, and practice yoga. I look forward to a marvelous year with you all!

I came to MHE because I was drawn to the committed staff and involved, supportive community. After 20 years of teaching, I am continuously inspired by the passion of young learners. I especially love seeing students grow as readers. I am married and have three daughters. One of our greatest joys is traveling together as a family.

Mrs. Carrie Parker

My name is Carrie Parker and I will be your child's first grade teacher. I am so excited to be back here, teaching at Mammoth Heights. This is such a new and interesting time for kids, everything is new and exciting to them. It is my hope to foster that love and curiosity of learning in your child. I believe that all children have the capacity to learn and I will make that journey of learning and discovery an exciting one. I have taught Kindergarten for 17 years and First grade for one year, all of that time in Douglas County. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver in Elementary Education with and emphasis in sociology and more recently my Master's Degree from the University of Phoenix. I have discovered that the truly magical part of my job is watching the kids faces when they discover they are capable of so many wonderful and amazing things. On a personal note, I have 4 incredible yet energetic children. Bailey is seventeen years old, Emma is fifteen, Sadie is fourteen and Zackery is thirteen.  We also have two dogs, one named Kipper and the other named Roxy, a cat named Baby, Cinnamon the hamster, Thomas the Turtle, Roxy the tarantula, two small frogs, a gecko lizard, a tank full of fish and a hedgehog named Hedgie. I am so excited to have your child in my class - I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year! It will be a year filled with fun and adventures!

Miss Juliana Elway

My Website
My name is Juliana Elway and I am so excited to be teaching 1st grade and to be a part of the Mammoth Heights Elementary school community! I recently moved back to Colorado from Arizona where I went to the University of Arizona to receive my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I worked as a Kindergarten teacher in Arizona for 3 years. As much as I love Arizona, I knew that Colorado was always my home.
I grew up in Colorado with my parents, John and Janet, my two older sisters, Jessie and Jordan, and my older brother, Jack.  Being a Colorado native, I am a HUGE Broncos fan! I enjoy going to the games and cheering on our team. Along with this, I also enjoy trying new restaurants, seeing movies, traveling, crafting, and spending time with friends and family. I have a mini Bernedoodle named Harper whom I love to death.
Teaching 1st grade in my home town is a dream come true. Teaching has always been my passion and I am thrilled that I am continuing that dream here at Mammoth Heights.
